Dion and Faye have been engaged since they were kids, but their 10-year age gap led Dion to stay away from Faye for years – going as far as attending boarding school overseas, and college in the UK thereafter. Unbeknownst to anyone, part of his reluctance is fueled by guilt – he's convinced he was the reason his parents and Faye's mother were on the plane that took their lives, and he's unable to face Faye. When he's forced back home for the wedding he can no longer escape, he learns that his timid fiancée now has a boyfriend. After intercepting the two on their way up to a room in a hotel his family owns, he becomes increasingly intrigued by the parts of Faye she hides from the world. The more he learns about her, the harder he falls. But it soon becomes clear that all Faye has ever wanted was true freedom – something she never had in her abusive household. She soothes Dion’s soul and heals his wounds, so how could he keep her captive in a marriage she never wanted when she's meant to fly high? Our sweet hero learns that sometimes, letting someone go is the best way to love them. What he doesn't expect is that sometimes, love is worth coming back home for, too.
